Waikiki SPAM JAM Returns to the Strip on April 25

Only in Hawaiʻi could a block party built around a canned meat product become one of the most beloved — and most charitable — food festivals in the Pacific. The Waikiki SPAM JAM Block Party returns Saturday, April 25 from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., closing a stretch of Kalākaua Avenue for live entertainment, hula, Hawaiian music, and inventive SPAM dishes from Waikīkī's best restaurants and food trucks. Expect SPAM musubi, SPAM fried rice, SPAM loco moco, SPAM tacos, and a few creations you will need to see to believe.

SPAM JAM is also a serious fundraiser. Proceeds benefit the Hawaiʻi Foodbank, the Waikīkī Community Center, and the Visitor Aloha Society of Hawaiʻi — the last of which quietly helps visitors in crisis on the island and rarely gets the credit it deserves. The festival has raised millions over the years while packing the main drag with families and visitors from every corner of the Pacific.

If you're going: foot traffic is the only way to move on SPAM JAM night — the block is closed to vehicles. Come hungry, bring cash, and look for the Hawaiʻi Foodbank volunteers near the main stage if you want to donate directly.
